As a system admin, I worked on dashboards in Salesforce. Recently, the sales manager asked me to create a dashboard that shows leads generated from different sources so that the sales team can easily track their progress and key numbers. To make it even more accessible, add the dashboard to the homepage in Salesforce.
Here, I will explain Salesforce dashboards. Then, using an example, I will explain step by step how to create a dashboard and add it to the home page in Salesforce.
Dashboard in Salesforce
The Salesforce dashboard is a graphical representation of the Salesforce records, which we can arrange according to our requirements. The dashboard helps us visualize changing business conditions so we can make decisions based on the real-time data we have gathered with reports.
To can create dashboards by using created reports or charts that we created in reports. In dashboards, charts display graphical representations of records or reports. A Salesforce dashboard is utilized to track and monitor various business metrics, such as sales performance, lead generation, customer service metrics, and marketing campaign effectiveness.
It provides users with real-time insights into their business, allowing them to make data-driven decisions and take action based on current trends and patterns.
Important:
The chart component enabled only two or more grouping fields in the report. Therefore, we can create the chart dashboard using summary reports and matrix reports.
