Lightning Table Dashboard Component in Salesforce
What is the lightning dashboard component in Salesforce?
In the lightning table dashboard component, we can create a dashboard with tabular and grouped reports. We can also show fields with grouping on the homepage, so users can easily see the data of records.
The following are the uses of a Lightning Table dashboard:
- The Lightning Table dashboard components use the objects, fields and the filter which we have applied in the source report.
- In the Lightning Table dashboard components, we can create groups; hence, we can easily understand the variation of data.
- This component provides a user-friendly way to view and compare the data.
- The Lightning Table dashboard components are easy-to-understand ways to represent data.
Important:
The only Lightning Table Dashboard Component can be created using the tabular report and summary or matrix report. We cannot create other dashboard components using the tabular report.
We must need to sort the records by any field and set the row count while creating the tabular report, and we also need to set up the dashboard settings.
How to Create a Lightning Table Dashboard Component in Salesforce Lightning
We can create a lightning table dashboard component in Salesforce Lightning using the following steps.
1. We need a tabular report to create a Lightning Table dashboard component. I have created a report on the Opportunity Stage Report.
2. First, log in to the Salesforce org. -> Click on the Gear icon. -> Under the gear icon, you will see the Setup option. Click on it. -> Then you can see the Home tab -> On the Home Page, you can see a dotted icon called App Launcher. Click on it.
Search for Dashboards. You will see the Dashboards option under the Items. Click on the Dashboards option.

3. To create the new component here, we have a New Dashboard button on the right side of the screen; click on it.

4. As we click on the new dashboard button, we need to enter the dashboard Name; here, I have entered the Table Dashboard on Opportunity Stages. The Description is optional; we can enter a short intro about our dashboard.
We can select the folder where we want to store our dashboard by clicking the Select Folder button. Here, I have selected the Private Dashboards folder. Then click on the Create button.

5. Then, we need to add a report. For that, click on the + Widget option, and within that, click on the Chart or Table option.

6. Then, you will see the reports, and you can select the report on which you want to create a lightning table dashboard component. I will use the Opportunity Stages Report and click the Select button.

7. Here, you can see that the report you have selected is displayed in the Report field. Then, we can see that when we selected the tabular report, the other dashboard component was not enabled.
We have the option to Use chart settings from the report. If we check that checkbox, then if we have a chart on that report, that will fetch it in the dashboard chart.

8. Here, you can see we have a Groups option. Using this option, we can create a group of records using fields as per our requirements. Then, we have the Column option. Using the column option, we can decide which field we want to display on the dashboard.
We can add up to five fields column on the dashboard component. Then click on the Add button.

9. The dashboard will display the lightning table dashboard component according to the values as we click the add button. If you want to see a report, then you can see below the component we have the View Report option.
Clicking on that will redirect you to the report based on which we created this component. Then, to save the dashboard, click on the Save button.
