How to add dashboard to Home page in Salesforce Lightning
In this section, we will see how to add a dashboard to the Home page in Salesforce Lightning.
Here are the steps that we can follow for this task in Salesforce Lightning:
Step-1: Navigate to the Home Setup page by clicking on the gear icon (⚙️) and then clicking on the Setup option.
Step-2: Next, from the Quick Find search box, search for App Builder and click on the Lightning App Builder option.

Step-3: The above step will open a Setup page for Lightning App Builder. From this page, click on the New button to create a new Lightning page.

Step-5: Next, specify the name for your custom home page and click Next. In our example, we specified the name as “Custom Home“.
Step-6: Next, select the appropriate page layout for your custom home page and click on Finish. In our case, we selected the Standard Home Page template

Step-7: By performing the above steps, we have created a layout for our custom home page. Now, from the left side menu, drag and drop the dashboard component. Moreover, you can also drag and drop other required components.

Step-8: Next, click on the Activation option given with the Save button. Once we click on this option, we need to set this page as default either for Org, App, or Profile.

Step-9: Once this option is selected based on the requirement, the new Home page with a dashboard is activated. Now, we simply need to click on the Save button.

With this, we have successfully added a dashboard to Home page in the Salesforce Lightning edition step-by-step.

How to add dashboard to Home page in Salesforce Classic
Here we will discuss all the steps that we can follow to add a dashboard to the home page in Salesforce Classic.
- Log in to your Salesforce account and navigate to the Home page and click on the Setup option given in the top right corner.

- Next, from the Quick Find search box, search for Home Page and click on the Home Page Layouts.

- After this, click on the Edit option for “DE Default” given under the list of “Home Page Layouts.“

- The above step will open the “Edit Home Layout” page. On this page, tick marks the “Dashboard Snapshot” option.
- Next, scroll down the current page, click on the Next button, and then click Save & Assign.

- Now, navigate to the particular Home page in Salesforce Classic and we can observe that the Dashboard section is added to the Home page.

With this, we have successfully added the Dashboard to the Home page of Salesforce Classic edition step by step.
