As a Salesforce admin, while working on reports, I created a report on account records in Salesforce. In that report, I had to display the account records created by me, but when the report was generated, it displayed all the created records, including the one created by another user.
I have added the show me filter to the Salesforce report to display the account records I created. Here, I will explain to you about the show me filter, and then I will show you how to apply the show me filter in the Salesforce report.
Show Me Filter in Salesforce Report
In Salesforce, when we want to create a report on particular records, users, or roles, the Show Me filter customizes the data based on specific criteria and our requirements and displays the report with those specific records.
Apply Show Me Filter in Salesforce Report
Using the scenario, I will explain How to create a report on records that I own using the show me filter in Salesforce Report.
1. Go to “App Launcher” -> Search “Reports” -> Click on Reports. Then click on the New Report button.

2. Go to the All category -> to select a Report Type, search “Account.” You can search for the object on which you want to create a report -> Select Account.

3. Now, we need to add the Show Me filter.
- Click on the Filter option. -> Show Me filter. -> The Edit Filter window will pop up.
- In the Show Me picklist, I selected the “My Accounts” option because I want records owned by me.
- Click on the Apply button to apply this filter.

4. Here, you can see options for the Show Me report.
- My accounts: When we select the My accounts option then which records you have owned that records will display.
- My Team’s Accounts: This option allows us to display records according to specific roles in our desired Role hierarchy.
- All accounts: When we select the All accounts option, all records will display, regardless of who owns them.
- Filter by scope: To use this option, we first need to create a Scoping Rule on an object we want to create a report. If the user selects “Filter by scope,” the list view or report results are further filtered by the scoping rule’s record criteria.

5. We have selected the “My Accounts” option. We can see only the displayed records, which you own.

This is how to use the show me filter in the Salesforce report.
