The organization where I work as a system admin uses Salesforce as its primary CRM tool. I have created multiple reports in the past to track the history, activity, and new updates of sales and objects.
However, we have noticed that many reports have not been used for a long time and do not align with the current business requirements.
I had to delete those inactive and unused reports, but for that, I needed to know when that specific report ran last.
After searching, I found a solution, and we will discuss in this Salesforce tutorial to find out when a report was last run in Salesforce and create a report on it.
Create a Report to find the Last run date of the Reports in Salesforce Lightning
To create a report to find the last run date of the reports in Salesforce Lightning, log into your Salesforce developer account and follow the steps below.
1. On Salesforce’s setup page, click on the App Launcher, search, and select Reports. If you are on the Sales application, click on the Reports tab.

2. In the Reports tab, click on the New Report button.
3. Select the report category as Administrative reports. Then select the Report type as Reports and click on the Start Report button.

4. In the report builder, click on the Filters tab and select the time range for the records to display on the report. After this, click on the Apply button.

5. To display the record in the report table, go to the Columns in the left sidebar and search the columns, including the Last Run column.
In the last run column, you can see the last run date and time of the reports.

6. To arrange the last run of the reports in order, click on the Last Run column dropdown and select the sort ascending or sort descending.

7. Click on the Save and Run button. Then, enter the Report Name and description; after this, select the report folder and click on the Save button.

8. When we click on the Save button, the report is saved in the selected folder, where it can be accessed later. The report then runs in the next window, displaying the values of columns and the Last Run of the reports.

This way, we can find the last run time of all Salesforce reports in our Salesforce instance, and with that, we can view and sort the reports.
Find the Last Run of an Individual Salesforce Report
To view the last run date and time of an individual report, navigate to the setup page of Salesforce and follow the steps below.
1. On the setup page, click on the app launcher and search, then select Reports.

2. In the reports window, we can see the list view of reports. Here, click on the gear icon and click on Select Fields to display.

3. From the column Available fields, select Report Last Run Date, and with the arrow, move it to the column Visible Fields.
At last, click Save to apply the changes in the reports list view.

Now, we can see the last run date and time of the reports in the column Report last run date.

This way, you can view the last run date of the Salesforce reports individually by following the above steps.
Conclusion
By creating a report on the last run of the reports, we get a list of the reports with their last run date and time; with that, we can analyze the old and unused reports present in the reports folder. By following the above steps, you might have understood the process of creating a report that displays the last run of Salesforce reports.
Along with that, we also edited the list view of Salesforce reports and added the Last run date column, through which we can view the last run date and time of reports individually.
