How to run a report in Salesforce
The Salesforce report is a standard object that facilitates data summarization and meaningful data visualization. In simple words, the Salesforce report is used for performing data analysis in accordance with the demands of your client.
To run the report in salesforce, follow the following steps:
- Click the Reports Tab.
- Find the report that you want to run.
- Click Run Report to run it.
How to run a report in Salesforce Lightning
You may quickly run a Salesforce report in the Lightning edition by following the steps outlined below.
Let’s take a scenario: Run the Contacts and Accounts type report records that have First Name start with A.
Step 1: Click on Setup and select any App. Here I select Service App.

Step 2: Now, look at the tabs and select Reports.

Step 3: Click on New Report.

Step 4: Select the Category as Accounts & Contacts and then select the Report Type as Accounts & Contacts. Finally, click on Start Report.

Step 5: Select All accounts, then All Time.

Step 6: Click on Filters, then search First Name and set the operator starts with and value to A.

Step 7: Additionally, we can also delete the unwanted fields by clicking on the arrow and selecting the Remove column option.

Step 8: Click on Run to run the report in Salesforce Lightning.

Step 9: It will run the Report and shows the Total Record 4.

Step 10: If you want to Save or Export this report you can easily do by clicking on (⬇) adjacent to Edit.

How to run a report in Salesforce Classic
You may quickly run a Salesforce report in the Classic edition by following the steps outlined below.
Let’s take a scenario: Run the Leads type report records.
Step 1: Look at the tabs and select the Report.

Step 2: Click on New Report.

Step 3: Select the Report Type. Here, I select Leads as Salesforce Report Type. Then, click on Create.

Step 4: Select Range and set it to All Time.

Step 5: Additionally, we can fetch the records on the group base. Select the (⬇) adjacent to the Lead.

Step 6: Click on Run Report.

Step 7: It will run the Report and shows the records group by Leads Source.

If you want to schedule the Run Report you can easily do by following the below-given steps.
Step 11: Click on the Run Report dropdown (⬇). Select the Schedule Future Run Report.

Step 12: Click on Save and Continue to Schedule button. If you want to add the description of the report you can add it.

Step 13: Select the users to whom you want to email the report. Then select the frequency, start date, end date, and preferred time.
Step 14: Then finally click on Save Report Schedule.
