Now that we understood what is a lead process in Salesforce, let us take a step further and see how to create a Lead Process. And for the current instance, we take a look at the steps for the Salesforce Lightning edition.
Here are the steps that we can follow.
Step-1: First, log in to your Salesforce account and open the Home Setup page by clicking the gear icon (⚙️) and then click the Setup option.
Step-2: After this, from the Quick Find text box, search for Processes and click on the Lead Processes to open it. This will open the Setup page for Lead Processes.

Step-3: On the Lead Processes Setup page, click on the New button to create a new Lead Process.
Step-4: Next, select the existing Lead Process as “Master“, and specify the name and description for the new Lead Process.

In our example, we specified the name of the Lead Process as “TexasLead“.
Step-5: Once we specify the name and description for the new Lead Process, we just need to click on the Save button. This will redirect us to the Lead Status page for the new Lead Process.
Step-6: On the next page, we need to select the values for all the Lead Status. And then we also need to select the default status value. Once all the values are selected, click on the Save button to create the new Lead Status.

Once we will create a new Lead Process, it will be visible on the Lead Processes page. For instance, the TexasLead Lead Process is visible on the Lead Processes page.

So, with these steps, we have successfully created a new Lead Process in the Salesforce Lightning edition.
How to create Lead Process in Salesforce Classic
Now, in this section, we will take a look at the steps that we can use to create a Lead Process in Salesforce Classic.
These steps are listed below.
1: First, log in to your Salesforce account and open the Setup page. For this, click on the Setup option given in the top-right corner.
2: Next, from the Quick Find search box, search for the Processes option and click on the Lead Processes.

3: From the next page, click on the New button to create a new Lead Process. This will open the New Lead Process page in Salesforce Classic.
4: After this, select the existing Lead Process as “Master“, and specify the name and description for the new Lead Process. Once we specify the name and description for the new Lead Process, we just need to click on the Save button.

In our example, we specified the name of the Lead Process as “USASalesLead“.
5: Once we click on the Save button, it will redirect us to the Lead Status page for the new Lead Process. Here we need to select the values for all the Lead Status and the default status value.

6: Once all the values are selected, click on the Save button to create the new Lead Status in Salesforce Classic.
With this, we have successfully created a new Lead process in Salesforce Classic.
