Import Leads in Salesforce
You can mass upload leads in Salesforce in both Salesforce Lightning as well as Salesforce Classic user interfaces. To bulk upload leads into Salesforce, you need to use the Data Import Wizard.
In Salesforce Lightning and Classic, some of the starting steps are different, and the rest of the process is the same in both interfaces.
Let’s first see the different steps in Lightning and Classic, then move to the same steps that you need to follow. Follow the below given steps:
Salesforce Lightning:
1. Click on the “App Launcher”, search for the “Leads” object, and click on it.
2. From the leads object, click on the “Import” button. This will take you to the data loader page in Salesforce.

Salesforce Classic:
1. Click on the “Leads” on the “Navigation Bar”. If not found here, click on the “+” icon search for the “Leads” object, and click on it.

2. Scroll down to the “Tolls” panel and click on the “Import Leads” link.

How to Mass Upload Leads in Salesforce using Data Import Wizard
Once you follow Step-1 and Step-2, then proceed with the below-given steps.
3. Click on the “Leads” from what kind of data are you importing?
4. You will get the following three options in what do you want to do?
- Add new records
- Update existing records
- Add new and update existing records
Click on the appropriate option based on your business requirements.

5. Specify the information such as “Match Lead by”, “Lead Source”, “Assignment Rule”, etc.
6. Drag and Drop the CSV file that you want to upload in Salesforce. Then click on the “Next”.

7. Map the columns based on the fields and then click on the “Next” button.

8. Click on the “Import” button to start the process of adding bulk leads in Salesforce. You can click on the “Leads” and select “All Open Leads or Today’s Leads” to view.
