What is contact in Salesforce?

Scenario 2: Some organizations convert the leads to contact when the person finally purchases the product or services.

How to convert Lead to Contact in Salesforce Lightning
In salesforce lightning, there are two ways to convert a lead into a contact. Let’s see each technique using an example.
Use the Converted Button to convert a Lead into a Contact
To turn a lead into a contact in Salesforce Lightning using the Converted Button, follow the steps below:
1. Select the Marketing app by clicking on the App Launcher.

2. Select Leads from the list of tabs.

3. Choose the Lead Name you wish to turn into a contact by clicking on it. I’ll go with Bertha Boxer here.

4. Click on the Converted Button.

5. After that, click on the Converted Status button.

6. You can update the Contact name on the pop-up page that appears on the screen.
If it finds a duplicate contact record, everything on the right side of the page is used to attach the lead to it. Everything on the left side of the page is utilized to build a new account record.
7. Click on Convert, after filling in the fields.

8. You will get the link to the newly generated contact after converting.

The below screenshot shows lead is successfully converted to a contact, as Bertha Boxer’s record is now showing in the contact tab of the marketing app.

Use the Convert Option to turn Lead into Contact
Follow the below-given steps to convert a lead to contact using Convert Option in salesforce lightning:
1. Click on the App Launcher, then select Sales app.

2. Select the Leads Tab from the list of tabs.

3. Choose the Lead Name you wish to turn into a contact by clicking on it. I choose Eugena Luce here.

4. Click on the ⬇ next to the Submit for Approval, and select the Convert option.

5. Update the contact information on the pop-up page that appears on the screen.
6. Once the fields have been filled out, click Convert.

7. A link to the newly generated contact will be shown after conversion.

The below screenshot shows lead is successfully converted to a contact, as Eugena Luce‘s record is now showing in the contact tab of the sales app.

How to convert lead to contact in Salesforce Classic
Follow the below-given steps to convert a lead to contact in salesforce classic:
1. Select Switch to Salesforce Classic by clicking the Avatar.

2. By clicking in the top right corner, select the Marketing app.
3. Look at the tabs and select Leads.

4. To convert a certain lead into a contact, click on their name. I’ll go with Cotton Phyllis here.

5. Click on the Convert button.

6. Again click on Convert, and it will automatically create a contact record.
