The New button in Salesforce is a standard button that allows us to create a new record for a specific Salesforce object. And in the case of Accounts, the New button is utilized to create a record for the Accounts object.
But, recently, when we were working on the Accounts object, we are unable to locate or find the New button.
Now, this issue usually occurs when the New button is not enabled for the List View in Salesforce. So, next, let us discuss the solution steps for this issue in both Salesforce Lightning and Salesforce Classic.

New button missing on Account object in Salesforce – Solution
In Salesforce, there are 2 different editions with 2 different user interfaces to interact with Salesforce. So, in this section, we will discuss the solution to how to solve the issue when the New button is missing on Account object in Salesforce Lightning and Salesforce Classic.
Let us start with the solution steps for the Salesforce Lightning edition.
Solution steps in Salesforce Lightning
Step-1: First login to your Salesforce Lightning account. After this, open the Home Setup page by clicking on the Setup option from the top pane.
Step-2: Next, from the Home page, click on the Object Manager option. And under the Object Manager list, click on the Account object.

Step-3: After this, we will land on the object details page, and from the side menu, we need to click on the List View Button Layout option. This will open the List View Button Layout page.
Step-4: On the List View Button Layout page, click on the drop-down (⬇️) icon given corresponding to the List View option and click on the Edit option.

Step-5: Once we click on the Edit option, it will open the Accounts List View page in Salesforce Lightning. On this page, enable the New [New] option given under the Standard Buttons section.

Step-6: After selecting the New [New] option, click on the Save button.

Solution steps in Salesforce Classic
1: First, log in to our Salesforce Classic account and open the Home page. From the Home page, click on the Setup option to open the Setup page.
2: From the Setup page, look for the Quick Find search box and use it to search for the Accounts object.
3: After this, select the Search Layouts option given under the Accounts section.

4: Once we click on the Search Layouts option, it will open the Account Search Layouts page. On this page, click on the Edit link given next to the Account List View option.

5: After clicking on the Account List View option, it will open the Accounts List View page. On this page, enable the New [New] option given under the Standard Buttons section.

6: After selecting the New [New] option, click on the Save button.
After performing the steps for both Salesforce Classic and Salesforce Lightning, the New button will appear on the Accounts object. And we can access this New button using the List View page for the Account object.
