What is Log A Call
There are situations when you complete a task and then want to log the activity in Salesforce. For example, your client may meet you in the cafe to discuss an issue. In this circumstance, instead of creating a task and then completing it, we use the “Log a Call” feature of Salesforce.
When we listen to “Log a Call” the first thing that comes to our mind is “Phone Call”. But the reality is not the same, basically “Log a Call” refers to any communication we’ve had.
It might be an email, a task, a call, or anything other that has been done but hasn’t yet been entered into Salesforce. So, we can conclude that users can record interactions by using the “Log a Call” button to create a task or activity record that has been completed.
Or in Simple words, you can say that when you click the “Log a Call”, a task record with a completed activity status is created. And the “Log a Call” button appears in the Activities component.
