New Task button not showing in Salesforce Lightning
This tutorial section will explain the steps using which we can add the New Task button in Salesforce Lightning.
Recently, when I was working on Salesforce Lightning, I found an issue where the New Task button not showing in Lightning when I was trying to access a record.

So, to over this issue in Salesforce, we can follow the following steps.
Step-1: First, open the Home Steup page in Salesforce Lightning by clicking on the gear icon (⚙️) and then click on the Setup option. This will open the Home Setup page in Salesforce Lightning.

Step-2: After this, from the Home Setup page, click on the Object Manager option. This will open a list of items under the Object Manager page. And under the Object Manager list, click on the Account object.

Step-3: After this, we will land on the object details page for the Account object. Next, from the side menu, click on the Page Layout option.

Step-4: After this, it will open a Page Layouts list and from the list, we need to select the Account Layout option. This will open the Page Layout page for the Accounts objects.

Step-5: Next, from the Accounts Layout options, move to the Mobile & Lightning Actions section. And under this section, we will find the New Task button.
So, we need to drag the New Task button from the Mobile & Lightning Actions section to Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions tab. Moreover, in the last, we need to click on the Save button.

After completing all the given steps, we successfully added the New Task button to the Activity Timeline in Salesforce Lightning Edition.
However, to confirm whether the New Task button is added or not, we can look at the Account object page for any of the records. For example, we have opened the United Oil & Gas Corp. record whose billing state is New York (NY, United States).
After opening the record, we can check the Activity Timeline where the New Task button is added.
