How to edit and delete a log call in Salesforce?

For this purpose, we edit the Log call in Salesforce, which allows us to update various fields and information associated with the call and make the desired changes to the fields, and save the updated information.

While working in a Salesforce CRM tool, I had to update the status of a contact from In Progress to Completed and had to change the priority from Normal to High. So, I’ll show you the process to update a Call Log in Salesforce with the help of this example in the below steps.

Deleting a Call Log

Deleting a Call Log means permanently removing the record from the system. Deleting a call log is a permanent action, and the data associated with the call log will be lost forever. Deleting a call log helps in data management and data cleanup.

How to Edit and Delete a log call in Salesforce Lightning

To Edit a Call log, First login to your Salesforce account and follow the below steps.

Step 1- On the setup page of Salesforce Lightning, click on App Launcher (9 dots) as shown in the below picture, and there in the dropdown select the option Service.

Step 2- In the Service application, click on the Contacts tab to access the logged call.

Step 3- In the Contacts window, we will see a list of contacts and from here, we have to select the contact with a logged call. In this case, I have a contact Steven Smith with a logged call.

Step 4- As we click on the contact, It will open in a new window, and there go to the Activity section on the left. In the activity section, click on the dropdown of logged call, and from the options click on Edit.

Step 5- As we click on Edit, a pop-up window Edit Call for details will appear. Here, we can edit the Subject, Priority, and Status fields according to our requirements and after making the required changes, click on the Save button.

As we click on the Save button, the edited changes in the logged call will be saved and with this, we have edited a log call in Salesforce lightning.

Delete a Logged call

When a particular task gets completed and we no longer require that log call, then in that case it’s better to delete that log call to maintain other important data.

To delete a call, you have to go again to the activity section and click on the drop-down in log call, and from the options select Delete.

As we click on the Delete option, the log call will be removed permanently.

How to Edit and Delete a log call in Salesforce Classic

To Edit a Call log, First login to your Salesforce account and follow the below steps.

Step 1- If you are logged in to Salesforce lightning mode, then to switch to Salesforce Classic mode, click on the user profile picture on the upper side of the screen, and in the drop-down click on Switch to Salesforce Classic.

Step 2- On the Home page of Salesforce Lightning, click on the Chatter tab to access the logged calls.

Step 3- In the Chatter window click on the logged call as shown in the below picture.

Step 4- The next window will appear with the details of the logged call and here in the Task Detail section click on the Edit button.

Step 5- In the Edit window of the Log call, we can edit various fields like Subject, Priority, and Status and make changes in them according to our requirements after making the required changes click on the Save button.

As we click on the Save button, the edited Call log will be saved with the applied changes, and with this, we have edited a log call in Salesforce Classic.

Delete a Logged call

To delete a call, we will simply click on the logged call and after that in the next window, click on the delete button in the Task Detail section.
