In this Salesforce tutorial, we will learn to Log a Call report. We will discuss the process of creating a Call log report in Salesforce Lightning and Salesforce Classic version respectively.
Log a Call Report
In Salesforce, reports are similar to a tabular representation of a list of records. This list of records in reports can be filtered or grouped based on any field. Similarly, Log Calls are also records of contacts’ call activities and we make reports to manage and track the records of log calls.
While working in an organization that uses the Salesforce CRM tool to track and manage its customers’ and clients’ data. I was asked to make a report of the Call activities or Call logs the sales team has done from 1 July to the current date. I will show you how I handled that situation and created a Log Calls Report in Lightning and Classic edition of Salesforce with the help of the below examples.

Create Log a Call Report in Salesforce Lightning
To Create a Log a Call Report in Salesforce Lightning, first log in to your Salesforce account and follow the below steps.
Step 1- On the Setup page of Salesforce Lightning, click on the App Launcher, and in the search box, search for Reports and then click on Reports from the results.

Step 2- On the Reports page click on New Report to create a report.

Step 3- Now we have to select a category to create a Report. Since we are creating a report for the Call log so for that first select Activities from the Category and then select Activities with Contacts from the Report Type Name column. Now, on the right-hand side, click on the Start Report button under the Activities with Contacts section.

Step 4- Now to create a report first we need to make changes in the filter according to which it will generate Report. Now click on Filters on the left side of the screen and in the Date filter select the range according to the data you need for the report. After making the changes click on Apply button.

Step 6- As we click on Apply, we will see a record of the log calls. Now to make a report of these records click on the Run button.

Step 7- On clicking Run a new report will be generated with the title New Activities with Contacts Report as shown in the picture below. In this report, we can see the Records of the Log call.

Now, we have successfully created a Log a call Report in Salesforce Lightning with the help of the above steps.
Create Log a Call Report in Salesforce Classic
To Create a Log a Call Report in Salesforce Classic, first log in to your Salesforce account and follow the below steps.
Step 1- If you are logged in to the Salesforce Lightning mode then click on the user profile picture on the upper right side of the screen and in the dropdown click on Switch to Salesforce Classic as shown in the below picture.

Step 2- On the Home Page of Salesforce Classic, click on the Reports tab as shown in the picture below.

Step 3- In the Reports and Dashboards window, click on the New Report button to create a report.

Step 4- In this step, under the heading, Select Report Type click on the Activities folder then it will open a dropdown, and since we are creating a report on log calls that is related to contacts so we will select Activities with Contacts option in the dropdown and then click on the Create button.

Step 5- Now we have to apply filters to generate a Report and for that first click on the Show dropdown as shown in the below picture and click on Open & Completed Activities to view all Log Calls in the report.

Step 6- After applying the filter select the Date range using From and To fields to get the call log data of the selected date range and then click on the Run Report button on the top.

Step 7- As we click on Run Report we will see a record of Call logs in a generated Report. Now click on the Save As button to save the generated Call log report.

Step 8- Now in this window, we will enter the details in the respective fields to save the Call log report. In the Report Name field enter the report name you want to save it as. I have saved this report as a Call log Report of leads.
As we enter the Report Name it will auto-generate Report Unique Name. Now, click on the Save button.

Step 9- As we click on Save, the Call log report “Call log Reports of leads” will be saved in the list of reports as shown in the picture below.

Now we have successfully created a Call a log Report in Salesforce Classic with the help of the above steps.
