List View Permissions in Salesforce
In Salesforce, Permission Sets are the extra permissions that are assigned to the users instead of their profile permissions. To display the records based on specific criteria, you need the list view.
So, the list view in permission sets is the way to filter out the records based on some specific requirement, such as you want a list of all the permission sets that have read permission access to the records.
By default, in the permission sets, you have a list view named “All Permission Sets” in Salesforce that displays a view all data permission.
Create and Customize List Views Permission Salesforce
You can create the custom list view in the permission sets and also modify the list views as per the need in Salesforce.
Create List View for Permission Sets in Salesforce
Below are the steps to create a list view on Permission sets in Salesforce Lightning:
1. Navigate to “Setup”, and search “Permission Sets” in “Quick Find”, once you find click on it.

2. Click on the “Create New View” option to create a custom list view for permission sets in Salesforce.

3. Enter the name for the list view in the “View Name” field. For example, if you want to know which permission sets have all the permission of the contact object, you can name them “Contact Permission Access”.

4. Enter the specified filter criteria that allow you to display the records according to defined criteria. Enter the “Settings”, select the “Operator”, and specify the “Value”.

5. Select the columns that you want to show in the list view. You can choose from profile details, user permissions, and object-level permissions.
For example, according to my requirements, I selected “Object Permissions” in the “Search”, and entered the value “Contact”. Then click on the “Find”.
You will get all the columns that are related in the “Available Setting”, out of which you need to choose the columns that you want to include by shifting it to the “Selected Settings” using arrows.
6. Click on the “Save” button.

Edit List View Permission Salesforce
Below are the steps to edit the list view in permission sets in Salesforce:
1. Go to the “Setup” search, and click on the “Permission Sets” in “Quick Find”.

2. On the top right side in the box, you will get the name of the list view that is activated. Change this name to the “List View Name” on which you want to make changes.
3. Click on the “Edit” option.
4. Now, do whatever changes you want to perform; you can edit the “View Name”, you can also modify the “Filter Criteria”, and even you can change the “Selected columns to Display”.
For example, I only want the permission sets that have modified all permission of the contact object, so I change the “View Name” to “Contact Modify All Permission Sets” and select only the “Contact Modify All” as the column in the “Selected Settings”.
5. Click on the “Save” button to save the changes on the same list view, or click on the “Save As” button to save the list view as new.

Error: You don’t have Permission to Filter this List View
Sometimes, you get a message like you don’t have permission to filter this list view. Let’s first understand the required permissions that you need to filter the list view in Salesforce.

1. Search “Profiles” in the “Quick Find” box, and once found, click on it.

2. Select the “Profile” to whom you want to check and grant permission to “Create and Customize List Views”.

3. Click on the “Edit” button, search for the “Create and Customize List Views” under the “Administrative Permissions” section, and check the checkbox to grant permission.
4. Click on the “Save” button.
