There are three main categories of paths in Salesforce:
- Custom path
- Standard Path
- Kanban Path
Custom Path: The custom path is a flexible and specially made path that we created for any of the custom objects in Salesforce. We can describe the stages, picklist values, and labels that are particular to our business process and allocate the path to particular profiles or record types. It is also useful for tracking the process of the records.
Standard Path: The standard path is the default path that approaches many of the standard objects in Salesforce like opportunities, cases, and leads.
It gives the visual representation of the standard stages that the record goes through and it is useful for tracking the process of records in a compatible and standardized way.
Kanban Path: The Kanban path is a vision board that shows records in columns based on their stage in the sales process. It gives the vision review of all the records in a specific object.
The kanban path permits us for dragging and dropping the records between the stages for updating their status. It can quickly update the status by simply viewing all the records at once.
