Use Global Value Set on Existing Multi-select Picklist Field in Salesforce Lightning
For that login to your Salesforce account and follow the below steps.
1. On the Setup of Salesforce Lightning, click on the Object Manager.

2. In the Object Manager page, select the object with the existing Picklist Multi-Select field. In this case, I have an existing Picklist Multi-Select field in the object Product.

3. Now, go to the Details section in the left sidebar and click on Fields & Relationships.

4. In the Fields and Relationships page, there will be a list of items sorted by field label. From the list, select the Picklist Multi-Select field to use the Global Value Set. In this case, I have selected the Picklist multi-select field New Car products.

5. Go to the section Custom Field Definition Detail, and here, click on the Edit button.

6. As we click on Edit, a custom field edit window will open. First, activate the checkbox Always require a value in this field in order to save a record. Then, go to the top section, Custom Field Definition Edit, and click on the button Promote to Global Value Set.

7. When we click on Promote to Global Value Set, we enter the name as the Global Value Set in the field Label in the next window and then click on Promote to Global Value Set.

As we click on Promote to Global Value Set, a New Global Set will be created as a Global Value Set.
8. Now, to view it, again go to the Values section and click on the button View New Global Set Value Set as shown in the picture below.

Now, we have successfully used the Global Value Set on the Existing Multi-select Picklist Field in Salesforce Lightning.

After selecting the object, click on the Fields just below in the object drop-down.

4. Now select the Picklist Multi-Select field from the section Custom Field and Relationship. I have already created the Picklist Multi-Select field Lead Contracts.

5. As we click on the field label, the picklist multi-select will open in edit mode. Here, click on the Edit button.

6. After clicking on the Edit button, in the next window, first go to Picklist Multi-Select Options and activate the checkbox Restrict picklist to the values defined in the values set and in the Custom Field Definition Edit section, click the button Promote to Global Value Set.
