The order ids exceed the limits, and some are duplicates due to exceeding the limits of orders.
This can cause difficulties and confusion when the buyer orders that product or make it difficult for the shopkeeper to track and manage the order. So for this, we need to modify the standard auto number field in Salesforce.

Step-1: First, log in to the Salesforce account; when the Salesforce account is login, we directly come into the Salesforce Lightning org. Go to the gear icon; this gear icon is present near the profile picture.
Click on the gear icon the drop-down list is open, and under this drop-down list, there are two options is present. The first one is Setup, and another one is Service Setup. Click on the Setup option. After clicking on the Setup option, the setup page is open.
Under this setup page, we can see two tabs are present on the nav bar. The first tab is Home, and the next tab is Object Manager. Here we are choosing the object manager tab, so click on the Object Manager tab.

Step-2: The Object Manager page opens after clicking the object manager tab. On this page, lots of objects are present, and we want to select one of the objects. And we can also choose the object by simply entering the object name in the search box at the right top corner. So we enter the order object in the search box, and the order object comes at the top of the page.
After comes the object at the top, select the Order object and the type of the object is Standard object.

Step-3: The Order Page is open, after clicking on the order object. Here we can see the details related to the order. And under this order object on the left-hand side of the page, there is a separate section of details; under these details, there is a field and relationships option.
We are selecting this field and relationship option for creating the fields and creating the relationship between the fields and the object.

Step-4: The field and relationship page opens after clicking on the field and relationship option. Under this field and relationship page, there are lots of fields present, but we want to modify the already generated field. So, to modify the already created custom field.
Here we are selecting the order id to modify, we want to decide to change the format. For this, click on the drop-down arrow of the auto number field that is order id. The drop-down list is open. Inside this list two options are present. Here we select the edit option for modifying the standard auto number field.

Step-5: The order custom field page opens after selecting the edit button. Under this order custom field page, the detail related to the order is present.
We want to modify this detail, scroll to the bottom of the page we can see at the end of the page there is an auto number options section present. Under this auto number option, an auto number display format field is present where the field format is entered.
Here we can see the ORD-{0000} format is entered in the auto number display format. Now we want to modify this auto number display format.

Step-6: Now modify the auto number format of this order number record. Here we are using the ODR-{000} format. This type of format shows that there are leading zeros padded to the three digits. After modifying the format of the custom field click on the Save button that is present at the bottom of the Order Number custom field page.

In this case object we want to modify the auto number field that generates the case number. Currently, we are using the case number format as CASE-{0000} and our case numbers look like 0001, 0002, and so on. Now we want to change the format of the Case Number field to include the prefix indicating the year, such as 2022-0001, 2023-0002, etc.

1: If we want to modify the standard auto number field in Salesforce Classic. So we first move to the Salesforce classic version. When we log in to the Salesforce account, we want to join the lightning version, but we want to switch to the classic version.
For this, click on the Profile picture; the drop-down menu is open under the profile picture. Under this drop-down list, there is an option to switch to Salesforce Classic. Click on this option. After clicking on the option, we move to the Classic version.
Now click on the drop-down arrow of the user name. The drop-down list is open; there is a setup option under this drop-down list. Click on the Setup option.

2: The Setup page is open, and under this setup page, after clicking on the Setup option, there is Quick Find Box. Enter the case in this Quick Find box.
The case object comes at the top. Click on the drop-down arrow of the case object. The drop-down list is open; under this case drop-down list, there is a fields option. Click on the fields option.

3: After clicking on the field option, the Case Custom field is open. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and under this page, there are case custom fields and the relationship section is present, and under this section, lots of fields are present.
And we can see there is a Case Number auto number field data type present. Under the action field, there is edit and delete option is present. Click on the edit button.

4: The order custom field page opens after selecting the edit button. Under this order custom field page, the detail related to the order is present.
We want to modify this detail; scroll to the bottom of the page; we can see at the end of the page there is an auto number options section present. Under this auto number option, an auto number display format field is present where the field format is entered.
Here, the CASE-{00000} format is entered in the auto number display format. Now we want to modify this auto number display format.

5: Now modify the auto number format of this case number record. Here we are using the CAS-{YYYY}{00000} format. This type of format shows four-digit years as a prefix padded to the five digits number. After modifying the format of the custom field click on the Save button that is present at the bottom of the Case Number custom field page.
After clicking on the Save button, the Case Number Standard auto number field is modified successfully.
