Users should have The following important permissions when deactivating Salesforce Org.
- To view company information: View Setup and Configuration.
- To deactivate an org: Modify All Data.
Admin can give this permission to users from the object level and field level security options on the profile.
Deactivate the Salesforce Developer Edition Org
Using the following steps, we can deactivate the Salesforce developer edition Org.
1. Go to Setup, Home Page. -> In the Quick Find Box, search for the Company Information that you will see under the company settings and click on it.

2. Then you will see the Company Information page, and there is a button to Deactivate Org; click on that button.

3. As you click on it, you will see a confirmation page to deactivate an Org. In the Org Name field, you need to provide your organization’s name and then click the Deactivate Org button.

4. When the org is deactivated, you will redirected to the Company Information page again. Now there, you can see the Reactivate option appears.
This option will be visible for the first 30 days. That means you can reactivate this Salesforce org within 30 days of its deactivation.
In the next 30 days, if you want to reactivate your org, then you need to contact Salesforce customer support.
Finally, after 60 days, the org will be permanently deleted, and it will not be irretrievable.

This is how we can deactivate and reactivate the Salesforce developer edition org again.
