Step 1. Go to Setup. -> Home Page. -> Quick Find Box, search for ‘Picklist Value Sets’ and click on it.

Step 2. Now, click on the existing global picklist value set that you want to deactivate the picklist value. Here, I selected the ‘Cloud Technologies‘ global picklist value set.

Step 3. Find the global picklist value that you want to deactivate and click on the Deactivate link next to it. Here, I select the ‘Serverless‘ picklist value. When we click on Deactivate, it stores in the Inactive section.

Step 5. Here, you can see that the value we deactivated is removed from the Picklist Values and displayed in the Inactive Values.

Step 4. Here, you can see that when we deactivate the picklist value, it will still remain in the Inactive Values, but when you Delete the value, it will be permanently deleted from the Global Picklist Value Set.
