Access Einstein Copilot in Salesforce (Step-by-Step Guide 2026)

Salesforce is continuously evolving with Artificial Intelligence, and one of the most powerful innovations is Einstein Copilot, now known as Agentforce.

This AI-powered assistant helps users perform tasks, generate content, and automate processes with simple natural-language commands.

Instead of manually performing repetitive work, users can simply ask questions or give instructions, and the AI will respond with relevant data or actions.

You might want to get hands-on experience with the Salesforce Einstein Copilot. You don’t need a subscription because we can access Einstein Copilot for free during the 5-day trial in the Einstein Generative AI org.

In this Salesforce tutorial, I will explain Salesforce Einstein Copilot and how to access and set it up in your Salesforce org.

What is Einstein Copilot in Salesforce?

Einstein Copilot is a generative AI assistant built directly into Salesforce CRM. It allows users to interact with Salesforce data using natural language. You can ask questions, generate summaries, create emails, and even automate workflows using simple prompts.

Salesforce has now renamed Einstein Copilot to Agentforce, but the functionality remains the same. Salesforce designed this tool to improve productivity by combining AI models with real-time business data.

The major advantage of Einstein Copilot is that it leverages your organization’s data to deliver accurate, contextually relevant responses. Unlike generic AI tools, it works inside Salesforce and understands your business processes.

Using the Einstein Copilot, we can enhance the user experience. The Einstein copilot will answer questions, generate content, and dynamically automate actions in Salesforce to improve productivity, deepen customer relationships, and increase margins.

The Einstein copilot’s access level depends on the user’s access level. For example, if the user can’t access the lead records, the copilot won’t generate a prompt either.

The Einstein copilot works on the SLM machine learning model because this AI tool generates data related to the organization’s unique data and metadata to produce customer insights and recommendations while maintaining privacy and data governance.

2. In the Einstein Copilot, you can see the standard actions that will be used by the Einstein Copilot to generate the response. In the middle section, you will see how the action generated the response.

The Conversation Preview section will show the response in chat format, which will be visible similarly when you use the copilot in the applications.

  • In the copilot’s chat panel, I entered a prompt to “summarize the opportunity Burlington textiles,” so the copilot ran with the action Identify record by name to identify Burlington textiles’ object type.
  • It executed the second action, ‘Summarize records, ‘ to summarize the opportunity record.

  • When I entered another prompt, “Is there any record for Edge Installation?” without stating the record’s object name. So here, the copilot took the action “Identify record with name,” and in the output, it displayed that it is an Opportunity record.
