In Salesforce, you can import data into standard and custom objects using the Data Import Wizard.
In this Salesforce tutorial, I will explain how to mass import contacts into Salesforce. I will also explain how Salesforce imports data from csv.
How to Import Contacts into Salesforce
You can bulk upload contacts to Salesforce Lightning and Salesforce Classic using the data import wizard. Below are the steps to import contacts into Salesforce.
1. If you are using the Salesforce Lightning, click on the “Gear” icon and select the “Setup” option. Search “Data Import” in the “Quick Find” box and once find click on it.
If you are using the Salesforce Classic, click on the “Setup” option and search for the “Data Import” in the “Quick Find” box.

2. Click on the “Launch Wizard” to start the process of data import.

3. Select the data that you want to import by selecting the objects, either standard or custom. Here, you need to choose the “Standard Objects” named “Accounts & Contacts”.
Click on the “Next” button.

4. In the step “Add New Records”, choose the “CSV File” that contains your data. After that, click on the “Next” button.

5. Now, “Edit Field Mapping” of “Accounts and Contacts”. In the “Edit” section, click on the “Map” and map the Salesforce object. After that, click on the “Next” button.

6. The map your field dialogue box is open in which we can find the field and click on the “Map” button.

7. The “Field Mapping” is completed, so click on Next.

8. Review the information and click on the “Start Import” button.

9. The dialogue box is open that say your data has been import. To complete it,click on the “OK” button.

Salesforce Import Data From CSV
The following are the steps to import data from a CSV file in Salesforce using the data import wizard. I will explain this concept with the help of a mass upload leads Salesforce example.
1. Go to “Setup Home Page of Lightning” and enter the “Data Import Wizard” in the “Quick Find Box” and click on it.

2. To import the data in three simple steps that are mentioned in the picture below, click on the “Launch Wizard” button.

3. Select the kind of data you want to import by selecting the object under the standard and custom object tab. Let’s suppose you choose the “Lead” object.
After choosing the objects add new records and then choose the CSV file. Then, click on the “Next” button.

4. Edit “Field Mapping of Leads”, in the “Edit” section, click on the “Map” to map the Salesforce object. After clicking on the “Map”, map your field dialogue box is open in which you can find the field and click on the “Map” button to map it.

5. Click on the “Next” button as the field mapping is completed.

6. In this step review the information and click on the “Start Import” button.

7. The dialogue box opens on which the text is written; click on “OK” to view your import status on the Bulk Data Load Job Page.

8. After clicking on the OK button, you can see that the Bulk Data Load Jobs Page is open, and you can see that under the Batches, the status is shown as completed.

In this way, you can import data in Salesforce from csv.
