How to remove App Page from App in Salesforce Lightning

In this Salesforce tutorial, we will learn How to remove App Page from App in Salesforce Lightning.

App pages are created in Salesforce with the help of App Builder, and we use these App Pages within our Salesforce Lightning applications.

While working on Salesforce, we do regular updates and modifications in Salesforce applications. While doing modifications in one of my applications, I had to delete an app page named “Custom Sales App Page” from the Salesforce Lightning application “Sales Tech App“. Then I got to know a solution to remove an app page, we will discuss that solution ahead in this tutorial.

Removing App page from Salesforce Lightning App

In Salesforce Lightning, removing the app page means removing the selected app page from the application in which that App page was deployed.

There are two ways to remove an app page from the Lightning Application. The first method is to remove the app page from Lightning app builder and second method is to remove the app page through Tabs. Let’s understand these two methods of removing app page with the help of an example.

Example:1- Suppose we have app page custom page and it is deployed on app1, app2 and app3. When we remove custom page from Tabs it will get removed from all the apps i.e., services, marketing and sales.

Example:2- Let’s assume we have an app page Page1, and it is deployed in applications services, marketing and sales. When we remove this app page through Lightning App builder Activation, there we have option to remove the app page from either of the applications or all applications.

Even after removing the app page from applications that app page will be still there in the App Builder and can use later to deploy in any Salesforce Lightning applications.

To remove App Page from App using Lightning App builder, login to your Salesforce account and follow the below steps.

Step:1- On the home screen of the Salesforce lightning, in the Quick Find bar search lightning app builder and below User Interface click on Lightning App Builder.

Step:2- In this window of SETUP Lightning App Builder, we can see a list of Lightning Pages. From the list of Lightning App Pages we have to select the app page we have to remove from salesforce application. In this case, I have chosen the Sales help app page.

Step:3-As we click on Edit, Lightning App Builder’s customization window will open, here we will click on Activation to remove or deactivate the app page from the application.

Step:4- Now in the pop-up window Activation: Sales help, click on Lightning Experience.

Step:5- In the Lightning Experience tab, select the application from where you want to remove this page. In this case, I’m removing this Sales Help page from the application Sales. After selecting the application, click on Remove page as shown in below picture and then click on Save button.

Now we have successfully removed the app page from the Salesforce application using Lighting App Builder.

Remove App Page from App using Tabs in Salesforce Lightning

To remove an App Page, log in to your Salesforce account and follow the below steps.

Step:1- After login, below the Setup, there will be a Quick Find bar. In that quick find search for Tabs and then click on it.

Step:2- On clicking Tabs, a new window of Tabs setup will open. Here, under the heading Lightning Page Tabs we can see the list of Lightning custom app pages. Each of the app page has Edit and Del option under the Action column, from there click on ‘Del’ on the app page you want to delete. In this case, we are deleting the Custom Sales App Page as shown in the below picture.

Step:3- Once we click on the delete button ‘Del’ a pop window will open, asking for the confirmation to delete the app page Custom Sales App Page. Click OK to confirm the deletion process of the app page.

Step:4- After clicking OK, we will see that in the Lightning Page Tabs, Custom Sales App Page is removed from the list.

Step:5- Now, I go back to the application Sales Tech App and we can see in the below picture that the app page Custom Sales App Page is removed from the application.
