Reason-1: Button not added to the page layout in Salesforce
One of the most common reasons why New Contact button is missing from the Accounts page is due to the incorrect page layout. Usually, all the buttons that we see on the record page appear when we assign them to the page layout of that particular object.
However, if we do not add the New Contact button on the Accounts Page Layout, the New Contact button will not appear.
Reason-2: Accessing New Contact button using Salesforce Classic
The New Contact button does not appear under the details section for the Accounts object. However, if we are using Salesforce Lightning, the New Contact button appears on the Highlights panel.
Reason-3: Missing user permissions in Salesforce
Now to use or access the New Contact button in Salesforce, a user or profile requires to create permission on Contacts. If the relevant user profile does not have the required create permission on Contacts, the New Contact button will not appear.

How to check user permissions for New Contact button in Salesforce
Step-1: Once you log in to your Salesforce Lightning account, click on the gear icon (⚙️) and then click on the Setup option. This will open the Home Setup page in Salesforce Lightning.
Step-2: After this, use the Quick Find search box, search for Profiles, and click on the Profiles option given under Users.

Step-3: Once we click on the Profiles option, it will open the Profile Setup page. Now, from the list of profiles, select your Profile and click on the Edit option.

In our case, we have selected the System Administrator profile.
Step-4: Next, on the Profile Edit page, scroll to the Standard Object Permissions section and check if Create permission is assigned for the Contacts object. However, if Create permission is not assigned, tick mark (✔️) it and click on the Save button.

So, in this way, we can efficiently check and assign the Create Contact permission to a profile in Salesforce Lightning.

How to add New Contact button to Account Pag Layout in Salesforce
1: Navigate back to the Home Setup page by clicking on the gear icon (⚙️)and then the Setup option from the top pane. This will open the Setup page in Salesforce Lightning.

2: Next, from the Home page, click on the Object Manager option. And under the Object Manager list, click on the Account object to open it.

3: Once we click on the Account option, we will land on the object details page. And then from the side menu, we need to click on the Page Layout option.

4: Next, from the Page Layouts list, select the Account Layout option. This will open the Page Layout page for the Accounts objects.

5: Next, from the Accounts Layout options, move to the Mobile & Lightning Actions section. And drag the New Contact button from the Mobile & Lightning Actions section to Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions tab.
