In this Salesforce tutorial, we will learn to disable a call or log a call action from the page layout in Salesforce. We see the method of disabling a log call from Page Layout in Salesforce Lightning and Salesforce Classic.
Disable a Log Call action from Page Layout
Disabling a Log Call action is a process where we remove the Call Log activity from the Page layout. When Call Log gets removed from the Page Layout then it won’t be visible to the user at the display and after removal, it can be reactivated later, whenever required.
There are many reasons and scenarios why organizations need to disable a call log from the Page Layout in Salesforce CRM. Many of the time a log call is disabled due to privacy reasons or requirements that restrict the visibility of call logs and information within it.
The other reason is that the Page Layout contains many fields and components and the display of too much information on the Page Layout can make the user experience tough and less efficient. By disabling the logged call component, we can arrange the Page layout and focus on relevant information.
How to disable a call or Log a call action from Page layout in Salesforce Lightning
To disable a Log a call action from Page layout in Salesforce Lightning, first log in to your Salesforce account and follow the below steps.
Step 1- After logging into your Salesforce developer account, on the setup page of Salesforce Lighting click on the App Launcher and from the dropdown select the app Service from the options.
Step 2- In the Service app, click on the Contacts tab as shown in the below picture, from where we will access the contacts with logged calls.
Step 3- In the contacts, we will see a list of Contacts and from the list, select the contact with a logged call. In this case, I have a Contact Steven Smith with a Logged call.
Step 4- In the selected Contact, go to the Activity section on the right side of the screen and there click on the gear icon, then in the dropdown go to the section ACTIVITY TYPE, and from there deactivate the check box Logged calls and after making these changes click on Apply button.
As we click on Apply button, the logged call will be removed from the display of the Page layout as shown in the below picture.
Now we have successfully disabled a call or logged call the action from the page layout in Salesforce Lightning.
