Usually, whenever we open any record that is listed under the Case object, the Details tab or section appears on the right side of the main section.

However, in our case, this Details tab was showing empty for the Case object in Salesforce Lightning.

In Salesforce Lightning, there could be mainly two reasons why the Details tab is missing. These key reasons are listed below:
- Reason-1: When the Details tab is not included in the Case Page Layout in Salesforce Lightning.
- Reason-2: When the Details tab is not added to the Lightning Page in Salesforce Lightning.

Solution for Details tab missing from case layout in Salesforce Lightning
Now that we understood the reasons why this may occur in Salesforce Lightning, let us discuss the solution for each issue.
Solution-1: How to add Details tab to case layout in Salesforce Lightning
Step-1: First, log in to your Salesforce Lightning account and open the Home Setup page. For this, click on the gear icon (⚙️) and then click on the Setup option.
Step-2: Next, click on the Object Manager option given in the navigation bar. Then, from the list of objects, click on the Case object. This will open the details page for the case object in Salesforce Lightning.

Step-3: On the next page, move to the left-side menu, and click on the Case Page Layouts option which will open a list of Case Page Layouts. However, from this list, select and click on the Case Layout option.

Step-4: On the Case Layout page, go to the Fields section and make all the required fields are there in the Case Information tab. However, if you are unable to find the Case Information section, drag and drop it first to create a Case Information section. After this, we can add or remove the required fields in this using the Fields section.

Solution-2: How to add Details tab to Salesforce Lightning Page
1: First click on the App Launcher icon given on the top left corner of the screen and then search for Case. And then click on the Cases option given under the Items list.

2: Once we click on the Cases option, it will open the List View for Cases object in Salesforce Lightning. From the List View, click on the required record and open it.
3: On any record page, click on the gear icon (⚙️) given in the top-right corner and then click on the Edit Page option.

4: After clicking on the Edit Page option, this will open the Lightning App Builder page. On this page, check if the Details section is available or not.
5: Now, if the Details section is not visible, move to the left side section, and under Components search for Tabs.
6: After this, drag the Tabs section and drop it onto the empty component section. Then click on the Related tab and click on the cross icon (❌) given next to the Related tab from the left side menu.

7: After performing the above step, only the Details tab will be there on the right side of the page. Next, again search for Record in the Components section and now drag the Record Detail component and drop it under the Details tab.

Once we execute the above solutions, we will be able to resolve the issue where the Details tab was missing from case layout in Salesforce Lightning. And now, the Details section is visible as it was required in Salesforce.
