What does the delete global picklist value mean

A defined set of values that can be shared among various fields and objects is referred to as a global picklist. And in Salesforce, deleting the global picklist value means eliminating a particular value from a global picklist. Let’s understand this with the help of an example.

Suppose we have a global picklist called “States” with values such as “California”“New York”“Texas”, etc. And we want to eliminate the global picklist value “New York” as our company stops dealing with “New York” organizations.

For this, we will delete the global picklist value “New York” from the state’s global picklist set. Now, wherever a user will see the picklist, they will not get an option named “New York”.

With this, we have understood the meaning of deleting the global picklist value in Salesforce with an example. Now, we will proceed and learn to delete the global picklist value in Salesforce Lightning.
