In this Salesforce tutorial, we will discuss how to resolve the issue where the Delete button is missing on the Lead object in Salesforce.
I recently updated and modified the Page Layout of the Lead object in Salesforce. However, we encountered an issue where we could not locate the Delete button on the record page of the Lead Object.

Usually, we can access the Delete button by clicking on the drop-down icon (⬇️) given next to the Clone button. However, this button was completely missing from the page.
So, in this tutorial, we will discuss how to overcome this issue in both Salesforce Lightning and Salesforce Classic Edition.

Delete button missing on Lead object in Salesforce Lightning
Here in this section, we will discuss the steps that we can use in the Salesforce Lightning Edition to resolve this issue.
Step-1: First, log in to your Salesforce Lightning account and open the Home Setup page. For this, click on the gear icon (⚙️) and then click on the Setup option.
Step-2: From the Quick Find search box, search for Profiles and click on the Profiles option given under Users.

Step-3: This will open the Profile Setup page. Now, from the list of profiles, select your Profile and click on the Edit option.

In our case, we have selected the System Administrator profile.
Step-4: Next, on the Profile Edit page, move to the Standard Object Permissions section and check if Delete permission is assigned for the Leads object. However, if Delete permission is not assigned tick mark (✔️) it and click on the Save button.

Note: After executing the above steps, we can check once if the Delete button is visible or not on the record page in Leads. But, if the Delete permission is already assigned to the Profile and still the Delete button is not visible, move to the next step.
Step-5: Next, click on the Object Manager option, and from the list of objects, click on the Leads object to open it.
Step-6: After this, from the left-side menu, click on the Page Layouts option. This will open a page where multiple layouts related to the Leads object are listed. So, from the list, select the required Page Layout.

In our case, we selected the Lead Layouts page.
Step-7: Next, from the Lead Layout page, move to the Mobile & Lightning Actions section. And drag the Delete button from the Mobile & Lightning Actions section to the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section.
Step-8: At last, click on the Save button to add the Delete button to the Page layout of the Leads object in Salesforce Lightning.

After going through all these steps, we can find that the Delete button is now visible on the Leads Record page. Additionally, to access the button, just click on the drop-down icon (⬇️) given next to Clone.
