In this Salesforce tutorial, I will explain how to create a list view in community Salesforce step by step. I will also explain how to edit and delete list view in community Salesforce.
This can be performed on both salesforce lightning and salesforce classic.
Recently, while working in the community tab of Salesforce, I had to filter records. However, I don’t have a filter for this. In order to do this, I create a List View.

How to create list view in community Salesforce Lightning
In this section, we will learn how to create a list view for Community App. To create it without any difficulty follow the below-given steps.
Step 1: Click on App Launcher, find and select the Community app.

Step 2: Select the Contacts tab.

Step 3: Click on the Gear Icon from the List View Controls dropdown and select New.

Step 4: On the next screen, enter the List Name. Here I named them Mailing Country View. The API Name is the name used for development purposes and this name is automatically set based on your list view name.
Step 5: Set the sharing settings for the list view. The view can be private, shared with all users, or shared with a subset of users. I set it to All Users and clicked on the Save button.

Step 6: On the left side we will get the Filters option. If you don’t get click on the Filter symbol. In this example, I use the Default set Filter by Owner. If you want to change you can change it.
Step 7: Then, I want to filter the Contacts based on their Country, so click on the New Filter box. If you don’t get that option click on Add Filter.
Step 8: Specify Filter Criteria. For this here I select the Field as Mailing Country, Operator as equals, and Value as USA. And then click on Done and Save.

Step 9: Click on the dropdown arrow near Recently Viewed. Select the list view Mailing Country View which we have created.

Step 10: It shows only the Contacts that have Mailing Country USA.

Above, we successfully created a list view for the community Salesforce app. But now I want to make some changes to it. So for this, I have to edit this view.

Step 1: Click on App Launcher, find and select the Community app.

Step 2: Select the Contacts tab.

Step 3: From the drop-down list, select the list view named Mailing Country View.

Here, I want to edit the name of the list view and display fields and their order

Step 4: Click on the Gear Icon from the List View Controls dropdown and select Rename.

Step 5: On the next screen, rename the list view and click on Save.

Step 6: It has successfully changed the list view name to USA Mailing Country View.

Step 7: Click on the Gear Icon from the List View Controls dropdown and select Select Fields to Display.

Step 8: Now, move fields from Available Fields to Selected Fields by clicking on arrows.
First, it displays only the Name, Phone, Email, and Country. I also want to add Annual Revenue. So, I move this field to Selected Fields and also change its order.
Step 9: Click on Save.

Step 10: It successfully edits the fields to be displayed.

Above, we have successfully created and edited a list view. But now I want to delete it.
If you want to learn how to delete a list view in community salesforce lightning follow these steps:-
Step 1: Click on App Launcher, find and select the Community app.

Step 2: Select the Contacts tab.

Step 3: From the drop-down list, select the list view named USA Mailing Country View.

Step 4: Click on the Gear Icon from the List View Controls dropdown and select Delete.

Step 5: If you want to delete it permanently click on Delete Button.

The Salesforce classic user interface is traditional and appears to be simple and user-friendly.
So, if you want to learn how to create a list view in community salesforce classic follow these steps:-
Step 1: Click on the Plus icon (+) to the right of your salesforce page. By default, it will list All Tabs including standard and custom.
Step 2: If you want to see a list of tabs for a specific app, select the app from the View drop-down list.
Step 3: Here, I pick Community from the View.

Step 4: It will display all the tabs of the Community app. Choose the specific tab from the list on which you want to perform some action. Here, I select Accounts.

Step 5: Click on Create New View to create a custom list view in community salesforce.

Step 6: Enter View Name. Here, I set it to USA Billing Country as I want to filter the employees on the basics of the Billing Country.
Step 7: Specify Filter Criteria. For this here, I select the Field as Billing Country, Operator as equals, and Value as USA.
Step 8: Select Fields to Display. For this, we move fields from Available Fields to the Selected Fields by clicking on arrows.
Here, I shift the Account Name, Account Number, Account Site, Phone, and Billing Country to selected fields.

Step 9: Restrict Visibility for Security. Here, there are three possibilities:
- Only me able to see it
- Access for all users
- Accessible to specific user groups
Any of them can be chosen based on our needs. In this case, I select All Users Visible. Since I want to make this list view available to customers and partners who utilize the portal.
Step 10: Click on the Save button.

Step 11: It has successfully created a list view named USA Billing Country open it by clicking on the list view.

Step 12: It shows all the accounts which have Billing Country as USA.

How to edit list view in the community Salesforce Classic
We’ve successfully made a list view in the example above. But now I want to tweak a few things. I must update this view in order to achieve this.
Follow these steps to learn how to edit the list view in Community Salesforce Classic:-
Step 1: Click on the Plus icon (+) to the right of your salesforce page. By default, it will list All Tabs including standard and custom.
Step 2: If you want to see a list of tabs for a specific app, select the app from the View drop-down list.
Step 3: Here, I pick Community from the View.

Step 4: It will display all the tabs of the Community app. Choose the specific tab from the list on which you want to perform some action. Here, I select Accounts.

Step 5: From the drop-down menu, choose the USA Billing Country View list view.

Step 6: To edit a personalized list view, click Edit.

Now, I want to rename the list view and edit their filter criteria and also the fields to be displayed. To accomplish this task follow the below steps.

Step 7: Select the View Name and set the new view name. Here, I change the view name to USA Direct Billing View.

Step 8: We can also add additional fields for filtration. So, here I add Field Type having Operator not equal to and Value Customer-Channel.
It means now it displays all the records having Billing Country as USA and Type other than Customer-Channel.

Step 9: We can change the fields and their order also which we want to display. For this, we move fields from Available Fields to the Selected Fields by clicking on arrows.
Here, I removed the account site and add the type to the Selected Fields.

Step 10: After making all the modifications, click on the Save button.

Step 11: It has successfully edited a list view and named them USA Direct Billing View. Now, pick the revised list view from the dropdown menu.

Step 12: It shows all the accounts having Billing Country as USA and Type other than Customer-Channel.

Step 3: Here, I pick Community from the View.

Step 4: It will display all the tabs of the Community app. Choose the specific tab from the list on which you want to perform some action. Here, I select Accounts.

Step 5: From the drop-down list, select the newly created view named USA Direct Billing View.

Step 6: Click on Delete to delete a custom list view.

Step 7: Click on OK to successfully delete the list view.
