Introduction to Lead Status in Salesforce
The term “Lead Status” in Salesforce is utilized to describe the stage a lead is at in the sales process. It is a common picklist field in Salesforce that is provided on the Lead object and can be altered to meet a company’s unique requirements.
The default picklist values for Lead Status in Salesforce are:
- Open: The lead is new and has not been contacted yet.
- Working: The lead has been contacted and is being actively pursued.
- Closed: Converted: The lead has been converted into an account, contact, and opportunity and is no longer an active lead.
- Closed: Not Converted: The lead has been disqualified and is no longer a potential customer.
To fit the particular sales process, sales teams in Salesforce can alter the picklist settings for Lead Status. A company might include additional phases like “Qualified,” “Negotiating,” or “Won,” for instance in their Lead Status Picklist.
As a result, by tracking the Lead Status for each lead in Salesforce, sales teams can stay organized and focused on moving leads through the sales process to close more deals.
