Let us start by understanding the key reasons why this issue may arise.

Change Status button missing on Leads in Salesforce- Reasons

In this section, we will discuss some of the key reasons why the Change Status button is missing from the Lead List View in Salesforce. These key reasons are listed below:

Reason-1: Lack of user permissions

The Change Status button in Salesforce is utilized to manage or modify the status or stage of leads. However, this feature will only appear when the user has edit permission on the Leads or Lead records.

But, if the current user trying to access the Change Status button does not have the Edit Permission on Leads, the button will not appear.

Reason-2: Button not added to List View Page Layout

Another reason why the Change Status button does not appear is due to the List View Page Layout. The Change Status button in Salesforce appears on the List View page of the Leads object.

However, if the Change Status button is not enabled on the List View Page Layout, the Change Status button will not appear. So, we need to make sure that the button is enabled on the List View page in Salesforce.

Reason-3: Incorrect Record Type

Next, check the record type associated with the Leads where the “Change Status” button is missing. We need to make sure that the Page Layout assigned to the user profile is the same Page Layout for which you want the Change Status button.
