Salesforce Classic mode provides us with the feature of a classic email template, that we can use to send emails to employees, clients, customers, etc more quickly and easily.
Additionally, it gives us the option to add an attachment to customize the email template. By using this we can add the image to our email layouts.
There are many scenarios where we need to add an image to the classic email template. Some of them are given below:
- When we want to promote a new product or service, we can add an image to marketing email templates.
- To update customers about the new release features or updates of the products, we can include the image of the brochure in the classic email template, to make the message more engaging.
- We can also add an image if we want to send a regular newsletter to our customers or employees to share news and updates.

How to add image to classic email template in Salesforce Classic
Here, are the steps to add an image to the classic email template in Salesforce Classic.
Step 1: First, we need to log in to Salesforce Classic. For this, click on “Avatar” and select “Switch to Salesforce Classic”.

Step 2: On the upper right-hand side of the corner, click on “Setup”.

Step 3: In the setup menu, search for the email template and then click on “Email Templates” under the “Communication Templates” section.

Step 4: Create a new email template by clicking on the “New Template” button. If you have already created it, select the email template you want to edit.

Step 5: Here, I select the “Marketing: Product Inquiry Response” classic email template.

Step 6: Click on the “Attach File” button under the Attachments to add an image.

Step 7: It opens the pop-up window, click on the “Choose File” button to select the file. Make sure the file must be less than 25 MB.
Step 8: After selecting the file, click on the “Attach File” button to complete the upload process.
Step 9: Click on the “Done” button to return to the previous page to complete the progress of the upload.

Note:
In Salesforce Classic, we don’t have an option of adding an image as we have in Salesforce Lightning. For this, reason we will use the attach file option.
And there is a difference between adding an image and attaching a file option. If you are using an adding an image option it directly inserts the image into the message body, but if you are using the attaching a file option it includes the image as a separate file.
