Follow-up Event in Salesforce
In Salesforce CRM creating events is very helpful to increase collaboration and communication with the customer. With the help of Events, we can schedule meetings with customers, clients, and partners.
We can organize customer-focused events such as workshops, training sessions, or user conferences to educate, support, and gather feedback from our customers. In the same way, an event created following a previous event is termed a Follow-up event.
While working on Salesforce CRM, We had set a client meeting and for that, we used this feature of creating a follow-up event for further sales discussion. In this scenario, we had a lead client Steven Smith and we set up a follow-up event for him with a location, which is followed up by a log call.
We will see the process of creating this follow-up event in Salesforce Lighting and Salesforce Classic with the help of steps ahead.
How to Add a Follow-up Event to Call Log in Salesforce Lightning
To add a follow-up event to call login to Salesforce Lightning, first log in to your Salesforce account.
Step 1- On the Home page of Salesforce Lightning, click on App Launcher (9 dots) as shown in the below picture and select Services from there.

Step 2- In the Service application, click on the contacts tab and select one contact from the list of contacts.

Step 3- In this step, go to the Activity section and click on the dropdown button of the call log as shown below picture and from there select the option to create a follow-up event

Step 4- As we click on Create Follow-Up Event, a pop-up window will appear where we will enter the details regarding the Follow-Up event. Here in the Calendar Details, enter the location of the event in the Location field.
At the Start and End, there will be current dates as the default for the event, you can change them according to the event date. After writing the description, click on the Save button.

Step 5- As we click on Save, a new follow-up event will be created as shown in the below picture.

Now we have successfully created a follow-up event in Salesforce Lightning’s Call log.
How to Add a Follow-up Event to Call Log in Salesforce Classic
To add a follow-up event to call login to Salesforce Classic, first log in to your Salesforce account.
Step 1- In case, if you are logged in to Salesforce Lightning mode, then to switch to Salesforce Lighting, click on the user Profile picture as shown below picture and there click on Switch to Salesforce Classic.

Step 2- On the Home page of Salesforce Classic click on the Chatter tab as shown in the below picture.

Step 3- In the Chatter window from the list of Logged calls select any one in which you have to add a follow-up event.

Step 4- As we click on the Logged call, in the next window click on Create Follow-up Event as shown in the below picture.

Step 5- In this step, we have to fill in the details of the follow-up event. First, enter the name of the client or lead and then enter the name in the Name field and then select the category in the Related to field. After this write description and enter the location of the event in the Location field.
You can also set the dates of the event from the Start and End fields, here we get today’s date as the default for the event. In last, click on the Save button.

As we click on the Save button, the follow-up event in a logged call will be created as shown in the below picture.

Now we have successfully created a Follow-up Event in the Salesforce Classic for a Logged call.
